Barnes & Noble Holiday Book DriveNovember - December
Each holiday season, we are honored to be chosen by Barnes & Noble as the recipient of their annual Holiday Book Drive. From November through December, customers of the two Fort Wayne locations are asked to purchase a book for Kate’s Kart. Together as a community, we are hoping to collect over 5,000 BOOKS to stock our many karts.
Other Kate's Kart Events
Crayon Drive 2019
In July and August Kate's Kart issued a challenge for donors to donate boxes of Crayola 24 count crayons and 12 count Crayola colored pencils. We had hoped to receive 5000 boxes of Crayola crayons to accompany our coloring books which are so popular and 1000 boxes of colored pencils to accompany our adult coloring books.
Our fans rocked this challenge and donated 10,448 boxes of crayons and 2085 colored pencils! WOW! We are overwhelmed. Thank you!
Your generosity will create 12,000 more smiles in our hospitals. Thank you!
Ice Cream Social
Each June, Kate’s Kart hosts it’s largest fundraiser as a ice cream social. This event, geared for families includes free ice cream, games, inflatables, costumed characters, pony rides, and much more. Corporate, business and individual sponsors make this free event possible, along with providing additional funds to support the purchase of new books.
Stay tuned for information about our 12th Annual Ice Cream Social scheduled for June 20, 2020!
Three River’s Festival ParadeJuly
In July of 2018, Kate’s Kart walked for the 6th year in a row in the Three Rivers Festival Parade. And...we even won our 6th straight award! We received the "Admiral Andy Award" for best float that appeals to children. Dozens of volunteers walked, waved and had a great time.
Crayon & Colored Pencil DriveJuly
During July & August of 2020 we will hold a drive to collect 24 pack Crayola Crayons and 12 pack Crayola Colored Pencils. Our goal is to collect 5,000 boxes of crayons and 1,000 boxes of colored pencils.
Festival of TreesNovember
Every year, volunteers design and decorate a tree that shares a little bit of our story. This past year, our tree focused on 10 years of smiles in honor of our 10 year anniversary. Although the tree is on display at the Embassy during the week after Thanksgiving, we are fortunate to have it in our office the entire year long.
