County Champions are needed in the following counties:

  • Grant

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Check Kart(s) in your county’s hospital every 2 weeks to clean, organize, and report inventory to the Kate’s Kart Office. 
  • Assist in forming connections with local business owners, families, and individuals that could be Ice Cream Social sponsors in your community. 
  • Share the mission of Kate’s Kart in your local hospital, with friends and family, community groups, and on social platforms. 
  • Collect donations from constituents in your county, if they prefer not to mail a check or give online. 
  • Be a champion for Kate’s Kart! 


  • Attend a 1-2 hour County Champion training session upon selection at the Fort Wayne office.
  • Attend 1-2 meetings annually at the Fort Wayne office (Board meeting and/or all County Champion meetings).
  • Devote 1 hour per month to checking the Kart(s). 
  • Devote 1-2 hours per month sharing the mission of Kate’s Kart in your county (ex: speaking to a community group or school, fostering relationships with hospital staff, passing out Ice Cream Social invitations, etc.)
  • Be a well-connected member in your community. 


  • Ability to utilize an online form to submit inventory & photos of the Kart(s). 
  • Access to a smart phone to take photos of the Kart(s). 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required. 
  • Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills; willing to speak in public.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs and be able to get down to ground level.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the volunteer is frequently required to sit, use hands to handle & feel & talk, hear & see.
  • The volunteer is occasionally required to stand, walk & reach with hands & arms.

*While some events may be child-friendly, checking the Kart and other community events are not.
